What an awesome summer!

What an awesome summer with so many great highlights, especially the Olympics and our family vacation at the beach (our favorite) in NY!! We had a great time being all together and taking a moment just to put our feet in some sand and relax... We also celebrated my birthday with lots of friends and family by having a big crab boil right on the beach followed by a beach bonfire. Perfect day!

Another favorite summer memory happened recently, when I planted a "Learning Garden" at Foster Elementary School in Los Angeles. The students, faculty and I spent a Saturday afternoon planting...we had so much fun!! While we were gardening, we talked about how to take care of plants and why proper care is so important...I loved seeing how excited my little helpers were to be learning while playing in the dirt and I am hoping it inspires them to put more greens on their plate! You know, Jade never liked tomatoes or snap peas until we started growing them at home. Once she was able to see them grow and pick them herself...everything changed! I hope this garden project has a fun & positive impact on the health and nutrition development at Foster Elementary.

Fall has officially arrived :) I'm getting ready to shoot a "Giada in Paradise". I love this time of year for many reasons, but I really love all the party planning I get to do for the holidays! I've already started gathering inspiration for some fun dinner party themes... What's your favorite part of Fall?

Giada's favorite food spots across
the U.S. and internationally.
